Sharon is a healthcare professional and has devoted her whole professional life to the healthcare industry in various capacities. Her degree in nursing, together with her varied professional experience equips her with a unique combination of commercial and patient experience.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science; Nursing from the University of Western Sydney and has since completed a post-graduate diploma of Diabetes Education with distinction at Griffith University and is currently studying toward a post-graduate diploma in Public Health. Throughout her career she has gained professional experience both in Australia and Switzerland as a nurse, a medical clinical research associate and a product manager in diabetes therapies.
Since returning to Australia in 2007, she has devoted her career to studying about and helping patients with chronic illnesses, with a particular interest in gastroenterology, diabetes education and healthy lifestyle coaching. She has worked for the diabetes center based at Nambour General Hospital, has consulted for FOCUS Health Network, and is an integral part of our team at Coastal Digestive Health. She is managing the research center at Coastal Digestive Health and works closely with the Sunshine Coast University ensuring patients have local access to new treatment options.
