Dr Felicity Hartnell BSc, MBBS, DPhil (Oxon.) Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist
Felicity graduated from medicine at the University of Queensland in 2011 and has recently completed her specialist training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, having trained at The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH), Royal Women’s and Brisbane Hospital (RBWH) and Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH).
During her training she completed a PhD at the University of Oxford (UK) where she gained experience in clinical trials and Immunology based laboratory work. She has presented her research at local, national and international conferences.
Felicity has special interests in inflammatory bowel disease, general gastroenterology, endoscopy and colonoscopy. She is also undertaking training in intestinal ultrasound (IUS) and is fully accredited by the Conjoint Committee of the Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA). She will play an active role in clinical trials at CDH and also has a public appointment as a consultant Gastroenterologist at SCUH.
Clinical trials are important because they serve as the foundation for most medical advances.
