Dr Hans Seltenreich

CEO/Principal Investigator

Hans completed his medical training and gastroenterology degree at the University of Padua (Italy) and the University of Heidelberg (Germany). Before relocating to Australia, he worked for 5 years as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in Switzerland. He then moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2007 to work as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and director of gastroenterological services at the Nambour General Hospital.

Ensuring the delivery of the highest quality services to patients is his greatest passion and one of his most rewarding experiences was the opportunity to plan and implement the state-of-the-art endoscopy suites at Nambour General Hospital. Hans is dedicated to the delivery of high-quality services to both public and private and hence opened Coastal Digestive Health in 2013. He has since established a research centre at the practice, and together with the University of the Sunshine Coast will offer new treatment options in the form of clinical trials to patients.

Hans is fully accredited by the Conjoint Committee of the Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA) as an interventional Gastroenterologist. He is particularly interested and specialises in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, ERCP, Capsule Endoscopy (Pillcam), PEG feeding tube insertion, liver biopsy and stenting of the oesophagus, duodenum, bile ducts and large bowel.

Hans also has a key interest in inflammatory bowel disease and together with the other healthcare professionals at Coastal Digestive Health has developed a first-class inflammatory bowel disease service on the Sunshine Coast.
